Supa Chair, Mabeo Studio 2015

The Supa chair is made of independent parts: the wood frame, leather cord is woven back, solid seat, and turned legs have different design and crafting approaches. This not only creates an eclectic chair with an improvisational sense, as it is often necessary for the culture of making in Africa, but it also allows for a robust chair that can be shipped flat packed in a box. Optional armrests are also post-fitted in the same way.

The groves on the back and subtle texturing on the legs further emphasize the strong craft attitude of the chair.
