Mamaroneck Library (New York, USA)

Mamroneck library project, a refurbishment project by architects BKSK in New York, consisted of the gut renovation of the existing historic, 13,000 sq. ft. library that dates from 1927, and a new 21,000 sq. ft. addition.

The design charge was to maintain the historic appeal of the existing structure; the Library’s original reading room has been restored and its columns and box pattern facade details replicated.

For the project Mabeo provided Kalahari tables and benches. The timeless contemporary design of the Kalahari series by Claesson Koivisto Rune. The warm natural tones of panga panga wood, made the Kalahari tables and benches, in the company of other design Classics such as the Eames wall nut stool, a natural choice in the modern environment with historic appeal.
