Pula Tables

Luca Nichetto 2010

The Pula table is inspired by the Euro coin. It is Designer Luca Nichetto’s translation of the coin shape into a full scale piece of furniture. The end result is a series of elegant coffee tables that have been laminated, shaped and milled by Mabeo craftsmen and women.

During the collaborative process, Mabeo made the request to honour the local currency of Botswana with the table, hence the name ‘Pula’ (which also means ‘precious rain’ in Setswana). The Pula series is available in single sizes for smaller spaces.

Individual tables can also be nested together to create an expansive coffee table set for the spacious living room or reception area. Each Pula table is handmade in sustainable hardwoods, using tried and tested methods in Botswana.
